Stephen Dwoskin (New York, 1939 – Londra, 2012), dopo aver lavorato come designer, fotografo e produttore, nel 1961 ha realizzato i suoi primi cortometraggi, Asleep e American Dream. Nel 1964 si è trasferito a Londra, dove ha insegnato al Royal College of Art e in seguito al London College of Printing. Ha pubblicato un volume sull’avanguardia americana e inglese, Film Is, e un libro sui suoi fotomontaggi, Ha, Ha! La Solution Imaginaire. Ha girato oltre quaranta film, molti dei quali sono stati proiettati ai più importanti festival, compresi Cannes, Berlino, Rotterdam e Toronto. Al Lucca Film Festival gli è stata dedicata una retrospettiva alla quale è intervenuto (2006); per il progetto Twenty Puccini ha realizzato il suo Ascolta!, e nel corso delle seguenti edizioni del festival sono stati regolarmente presentati i suoi nuovi lavori.
