A Painting Competition Dedicated to Cinema

On Saturday, September 28, Lucca Effetto Cinema invites all artists and art enthusiasts to take part in ENTER THE SCENE!, a painting competition entirely dedicated to the Seventh Art. This unique opportunity allows participants to unleash their creativity by reinterpreting some of the most iconic scenes in film history.
The event will take place in the picturesque historic center of Lucca, where artists will create their works from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Their artworks will then be displayed to the public. The city’s main squares and businesses will be transformed into cinematic sets, hosting live artistic performances. Paintings created on the spot will turn the entire historic center into an open-air set, blending art and cinema in an immersive experience.
Participation is free and open to all: professional painters, amateurs, and students. Around 10 artists will be selected, and they will receive the themes and organizational details before the event. Each artist will be provided with a white wooden panel, a seat, and guidelines on the films and scenes to inspire their work. The completed pieces will be displayed in the hosting venues.
A panel of experts will evaluate the paintings based on originality, technique, and integration with the environment, awarding the best cinematic scene interpretation.
